How come when I export a stereo mix as a .wav file from STP, Pro Tools won't recognize it for import unless I bring it into QuickTime and export it as a .wav file?

Check the STP project Submix setting. It's possible you may be outputting a multi-channel file.

Try this:

Set the Submix to Stereo 1,2

Exported Items: Master Mix

File Type: WAV

Let me know how it goes ...

Paul,

Thanks. There is no place in my export screen to set the submix to Stereo 1,2.

Oh...I get it. What a weird way to configure audio workflow.

If STP were created by audio people instead of IT people, it would be a lot more intuitive (to audio people).

Thanks Paul. It did.

But why they made that the default position remains a mystery.
