Huge 320 problem
by Lukkee Chong on Oct 1, 2009 at 1:10:12 am

Hi,
The problem is I got a Media 100 error message about "bad video frame" and the footage I digitized today will not play. So I ran Disk Utility verify and repair but it stopped saying repair fail. I have started to run Disk Warrior 4.0 and it is very slow but revealing "Overlapped files detected".
My system is Mac Os10.5.8 Dual 2.7 G5, Atto ExpressPCI UL4D dual, with two HUGE U320 striped as one 1.2 terrabyte partition.
Any ideas welcomed!
Thanks,
lc

So I got it working again using a combination of Disk Warrior and Disk Utility. Had to wipe it and then rebuild the raid. Another curve in the learning curve! :-)

To assure maximum stability, make sure you SCSI HBA card is using the latest drivers and firmware. Also, your U320 array should have the latest firmware level loaded. version 19d

Thanks for the heads up Kevin. Any idea where I might find these?

Also, since I rebuilt the raid I notice the lights only flash on one of the two towers.

The drivers and firmware for the SCSI HBA card can be found at the manufacturers website. For the latest firmware for your U320 MediaVault array, please email me at RiverbendPC@aol.com

Please provide more details about your issue with the lights.
