 | U320RX -Side A not showing and long beep at boot OS 10.4
by RDMedia on Dec 4, 2006 at 3:41:50 am |
I just installed 10.4 and ran software update.
I upgraded from 10.3; it wasn't a hard drive wipe and install.
I downloaded the 10.4 driver for my UL4D.
I'm turning on the U320RX 1st, then booting my mac.
When the os boots, the computer (not the Huge) lets out a constant beep and doesn't stop until I shut down.
It had probably been a month that I hadn't used my G5 and Huge. When I turned it on a few days ago, I couldn't see Side A array (both are Raid3).
I haven't changed the configuration on the array (raid status), but I did have another scsi device (Huge 160)on the side A chain.
The terminators are both green. Hmm what else.... help!

Ok feelin a little foolish. The beep was my APC (power surge and battery backup) RS1000. It's behind the Mac in such a way that I didn't see the 'Overload' light on when both the mac and huge were running.
Flashed the ATTO with the most current info, still can't see Side A. When I open disk utility, it is blank and only shows "Gathering Disk Information..."

Again, foolish. I had disk utility on my dock. When I opened it from Applications>Utilities I see 612.5 GB ATA U320RAID3/2k Media and what I named it, "Huge1."
I can't see it on the Finder/desktop. Do I want to run verify or repair?
Wait. It's unmounted. What the.....Uhhhhhhhh. I just clicked the 'mount' icon and there it is. What was that all about?!?!?!?
