 | New to Authoring, have a basic subtitling question
by Mike Schmitz on Apr 27, 2012 at 3:29:34 pm |
Hello
I have to bid a job and was wondering a couple of things:
1. Can you add subtitles to a Blu-Ray project in Encore. (Thought I seen somewhere that you could not.)
2. What type of files should I use? I have authored with .STLs in DVDSP, and that's what my Captioning service provides. Should I ask for a different type of file from them instead? Or will Encore accept the STL file?
Any help on this would be appreciated greatly.
Thank You

hi mike,
of course you can add subtitles to encore-created blu-rays. encore does not accept STL-files, it has it´s own format for subtitles.
if you have a STL-files, I would suggest to use annotation edit from zeitanker to convert your subtitles.
this would be a one-klick-work...
cheers

Thanks guys, I heard back from my Captioning person and she confirmed what type of files would be necessary. As far as the Blu ray capability, I assumed so, but doing searches seen some mention of it not working in Encore. Thanks again!
