Adobe Encore VERY touchy and finicky, lots of crashes
by Ivars Bezdechi on Jul 10, 2009 at 9:14:09 am

I'm using a Mac Pro with 6 Gigs of memory, 2 x 2,67 Xeon Processor, 2 1TB drives, 250G drive, 7200 RPM.

Whenever I exit Encore for all intents and purposes, it "crash lands" when I get back to the Finder. When I try to start it up again, it, in a sense, sputters, brings me to open up my project, and then gives me a "General Error" dialog box and doesn't allow me to continue to work on the project until I totally reboot my system. Even sometimes when I'm working within Encore it will start crashing, etc. I am able to build my project, and it does preview correctly. I "save" my project very often.

This is a recent installation of Adobe Master Collection Suite C3.

Any ideas, anyone?

Presumably you're running Leopard (MacOS X 10.5.x) on this system?

Encore CS3 predates Leopard by a few months. You may want to consider updating to Encore CS4, which should be more compatible with Leopard, and has several Mac-specific bug fixes as well.
