any shortcut for creating an FLV with subtitles on?

Okay, I admit... this is a slightly unusual request, but thought I'd at least ask. I produced a first-play DVD (no menu) with subtitles. The client now wants an FLV file so his web developer can implement it into an existing flash player. But, he wants the version to be developed with subtitles turned on.
How can I do this?
The only method I can conceive of is to ingest to an AVI from a DVD player via analog cables with the subtitles turned on, then transcode from AVI to FLV. A more direct route would be preferred. Any ideas?
I stand poised to be enlighted by anyone in the know...

There's no way to do it in Encore alone using Encore's subtitle feature - Encore's subtitles are only for DVD-Video.
I've never done this in Flash and am not sure if it's even supported, but your web developer may be able to overlay text using Flash...check with him/her.
