I have just do a clean install of Encore DVD 2.0. But when I tried to run the program, the program shows a error message box with the message "Sorry, an abnormal condition has been detected. Before quitting, you have one chance to save your project (don't use the same name as the original).". When I click on the OK button, the message appear again. I have tried to do the repair for installation, but the problem still remain. How can the problem be solved?

Hi,

What Operating System are you using?

Have you updated your video card drivers and your sound card drivers?

I'm using Windows XP. I'm not sure whether I'm using the most up to date drive, but I have no problem running other application like After Effects 7, Premiere Pro 2.0, Photoshop CS2.

Is your Most Recently Used files list turned off in Windows? If so, re-enable it.

Feels like it has been disabled by me. But, right now I can't remember where to re-enable it.

I have found it. After re-enable MRU, now everything is working properly. Thanks a lot for your great help, Joe Bowden. :)

OK. :)

The problem has been fixed by re-enable the MRU in registry. This can be done by run your registry using keyword "regedit" and then go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer", you will find a key called "NoRecentDocsHistory". Double click on it and change the value to "0". And, the problem is fixed.

Hope this will help others who is facing the same problem as me.
