Sound becomes out of sync
by PhilyB on Mar 23, 2007 at 11:26:03 am

I have compiled a dvd for a film using Encore 2.0. It has 35 chapters. While compiling the DVD, and in the preview playback the film runs fine. The video and sound were exported together from Premiere 2 as MPEG2 DVD format.

Unfortunately, once I have burned the project once it reaches chapter 13 the sound goes out of sync for the remainder of the film. Are there any obvious reasons for this?

Thanks

What format was the Audio exported out from Premiere Pro as?
If you used MPEG Audio, this is the cause of the problem (assuming we are talking about one long video file here)
Try exporting as PCM Audio, and letting Encore transcode to Dolby Digital.

(The problem is recompressing MPEG Audio to yet another compressed format. Bad plan, as mPEG Audio is not your friend)
