Hi Gurus,
I'm new with Encore 1.5 and reading your posts have been a great help so far.
I'm not sure if its possible with Encore 1.5 but I would like to create a menu with a Video clip as the background... AND image as button highlights.
I've seen Mr David Garrett's tutorial on "Using a full colour picture for subpictures", which as helped me tremendously with achieving the image as button highlights.
However, I would like to achive the same effect BUT with a video clip as the background instead of a still picture.

Yes, you have to "bake" all image pixels into the background and for a motion menu this means using AE or Premiere. Unfortunately you cannot simply sandwich multiple image layers as you would in Photoshop.

If you want to use images instead of subpicture highlighting, you will have to create a separate menu for each button, and then link each button to the next menu, which can get tedious if you have several buttons.
Note that using images for button highlights is working around the limitations of the DVD-Video specification. I would not recommend doing this (due to the amount of work it takes and some overall compatibility issues) unless it is absolutely crucial.
