 | Encore problem! Need help.
by J.Tiger on May 10, 2005 at 9:38:52 am |
Okay, I have Premiere Pro 1.5 and Encore 1.0 running.
I edit a 5 minute short with Pro 1.5 and Encore 1.0. Yes, I am old school. I try to update but I think I need to format my computer, because I think I got alot of spyware or something. Anyhow, I chop up the 5 minute video into 8 pieces for my scene selection menu. I had no problem linking main menu to my scene selection menu. No problems with linking each scene to the scene index.
THE PROBLEM:
However, I have a problem about stills. I read the other threads, but it seems to be opposite of what I have. Encore freezes the last frame of each of my scene. When I press the PLAY ALL button, it does play all. But from scene #1 to #2 there is a freeze in the last frame before going to #2. And same problem continues all through the movie.
Thanks
Jaded Tiger

Most set top DVD players will hold the last frame or field while they are searching for the start of the next item to play. My guess is that this is what you are seeing. It is an inevitable side effect of linking timelines.

Hey roadkill,
Are you serious? Meaning, there is no way to correct they problem? Then how do the professional DVD you can move from scene 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 seemlessly. Reason being is I would like to create a scene selection menu. And therefore I need to break up the timeline.
Hmmm. I think I'm going to try something else. Hopefully it works, otherwise, the whole idea of authoring DVD with Encore isn't good.
Thanks again

J,
What roadkill describes will happen with any authoring application.
The freeze you see is a result of you cutting the program up into separate timelines. Try putting the whole show on one timeline and put chapter marks where you had previously sliced the show. Link to the chapter marks from your scene selection menu.
Hope this helps.

Hey David,
I was going to try that. But didn't know what they were called, chapter marks? how to I anchor the chapter marks?
I'll try playing with it for now, but thanks much.
