The component connections on the EX-1 are for output only. You can record the programs to your computer, if you have an HD capture card with component in. HDMI will not work do to copy protection on the HD broadcasts.

Do you have any suggestions for an HD capture card? I'm running a Mac Quad Core. I currently have a Canopus ADVC110 and looking to upgrade. Does Canopus/Grass Valley have a box that you would recommend? Or something similar from another company?

Thx Chris for introducing Blackmagic cards..seems it does wonders as per specs in the blackmagic website...will order one soon for my Dell T7500 desktop.. Thx again from Oz.
