Does a 3-chip 1920x1080 & 60p Camcorder under $20k exist?

1920x1080 60p cameras are rare.
If you're willing to work with a large sensor camera the Sony FS100 does 1080p60 at about $5k without lens.

BTW for those wondering, Sony F3 does not do this.

1080p60 is not really a standard (at least as of yet) so even the post workflow can have some kinks.

Actually, the F-3 will do 1080 60P. But it can't record it internally.

If you have the 1.2 version of the firmware, the F-3 can be made to output 1080 60p across the two dual-link SDI outputs. A Dual-link capable recorder could then record the 60p output. We have recorded the 60p dual-link signal on our Kona 3.

I realize the fact that it won't record the 1080 60p on SXS cards is an issue, but I felt Craig's statement needed clarification.

But Dual Link brings it above $20K I believe which was Jim's threshold. Granted that the cameras I mentioned weren't 3 chip which was also one of his conditions.

Basically 3 chip 1080p60 under $20K may not exist. It seems to be a large sensor feature in various price ranges. It may be related to the amount of data that needs to be moved. BTW there may be several cameras that process at 1080p60 but don't record that.

No, that is incorrect. You do not need the S-Log option to get 1080 60P over the dual-link connectors. You only need the free firmware upgrade to version 1.2.

The $3800-ish S-log option allows you to send 444 video with the S-log gamma curve out over the dual-link connectors, and enables LUT's on the SDI output.

1080 60P can be achieved without the S-log option.

I'd assume you'd need a device capable of handling the Dual Link recording.
SRW1 is over $60k
SRPC1 over $30k
SRR1 over $12k
Any of which drives the total price over $20k

I guess the Convergent Design Gemini could be used at around $6 when it's released and that would bring it close to $20k

Is there some other recording device I'm overlooking?

No, I think that sums it up.

I wasn't trying to imply that the F-3 would be this guy's solution. I just didn't want someone to read this thread and walk away thinking the F-3 couldn't do 1080 60P out of the box... That's all.

I knew there were consumer cameras that did 1080p60. I hadn't realized that any were 3 chip.
The Panasonic HDC-HS900 is 3 chip
