flipping an image with a 35mm adapter
by James Wainman on Jul 4, 2009 at 3:30:53 pm

Hi,

I am shooting a film soon using a 35mm adapter with the sony ex3. Although the camera has a function to mirror the image in the viewfinder i wasnt sure whether this flips the image both horizontally and vertically - and if not how can i achieve this? Would really appreciate any help.

Thanks : )

I believe the image will need to be flipped in post and it is very easy to do in Final Cut.

However depending on the adapter you get many have an extra prizim to flip the image before the sensors, but they rob you of 1/2 stop.

Good Luck

I was hoping to do the same thing with my EX 1 so I can save $500 on a flip module. Maybe you can mount your camera upside down (
