Hi guys,
Can you please help me.
I am viewing footage from PMW-EX1 on a television via Composite cable. I am downconverting directly on the camera, but I get no sound on the TV, no matter what channel I am on.
I get sound and no video via composite cable,
video and but no sound via component cable.

very very simple comment,
maybe you should check your cables again, you may have messed up the cables. or if you have another monitor/tv you may as well try in there.

As Michael says, you should have audio out from the AV connection (Composite video+ L audio+ R audio). You need to set "YPbPr/SDI" to off.
The Components connection (YPbPr) can not carry any audio.
Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
PMBP 17"Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
JVC DTV-17"
SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.

You need to check your TV manual to see what audio inputs go with which video inputs.
For example, I'm running DVI to HDMI cable from my computer so I can see EX1 HD from my NLE full screen on HDTV. On my HDTV I MUST use HDMI 1 input and patch analog audio to a set of inputs that are dedicated to that (HDMI 1) input. No other HDMI inputs with analog audio inputs will work.
Find which audio ins go with the component in and you should be OK.
