Does the EX have a full res still shot function?
I could not find mention of one.

No still image function that I can see, Randy. However, an exported frame grab from your NLE will result in a still image comparable to a 2.1 megapixel camera.

Isn't there a "claymation" function? Wouldn't that be recording single frames? Although they may be "strung" together. I thought there was a single frame record function.

You're right. The time lapse thing. I forgot about that. We'll offiicially call that a still frame feature.

Thanks guys,
I was thinking it would be nice to record full res, highest quality shots even when shooting in lower res modes. It would be interesting to see what type of still quality could be obtained through a 2MP x 3 sensor system when optimized for a still shot, independent of video necessities. With this high quality Fujinon lens, I would imagine it could be pretty sweet.

That is something curious about stills from video cameras. Bad video cameras can make better stills than good video cameras.
I have a small 1CCD Sony Handycam that makes 1360x1020 stills. My (3 CCD) DVCam can only make 720x576.

Hi,
I work for Sony. No stills capture capability on the Ex1. However, if you shoot in 1080p HQ mode, each frame is a 2 mega pixel still. You can adjust the shutter angle to freeze the action.

Hi Juan,
Great to have somebody from SONY around.
Do you think we will have some time something like the EX1 but 422,50Mbps recording in the Express cards?
