.mov to flv
by John Funchess on Dec 21, 2011 at 8:14:27 pm
I have a client who wants to have a short video clip converted in to flv format. Without purchasing an expensive piece of software (Adobe Flash or Telestream Episode-since I don't do this often) is there an inexpensive way to do this? I've heard that an mp4 in H.264 compression can work. Is that correct?
Thanks, John

Thanks Glen,
I don't have After Effects right now but have been thinking about getting CS5 Production Bundle so this may push me over the edge. Also, do you create an flv or swf?
Thanks, John

I have only used the method to create flv's. You may want to install Perian and see if it allows you to compress flv's using compressor or quicktime pro.

I would try out encoding.com, they can pop out an FLV in about 5 minutes for free. You just need to send them your MOV file, sign up for an account, and they'll take care of the rest. Make sure your MOV is good quality. Good luck!
