I know this Users Group has ties to FVESCO.... but....
Care to share who/where you purchased your turnkey (or piecemeal) system from, and how it went?
Did they include on-site setup/installation?
Did everything run smoothly afterwards?
If not, did they give you on-site support?
Would you get your next NLE from them?
If these questions are not appropriate for this forum, then "nevermind".

Your question is more than appropriate for this group! An edit system is a big purchase, and I encourage everyone to research all of your options intensely before you spend big money like this.
I usually buy where I get the best mix of price and service. I find that whenever I go out of my may to save a few bucks, I end up getting poor service or quality. So I try to stick somewhere in the middle.
I bought my first system from ProMAX, and assembled it all myself. I did not pay for support and never got any (and I tried, once), but I do know of people that have bought from them and have gotten really good support.
As for my second system, which was really just an upgrade, I bought the majority from FVSECO. Again I set it all up myself. And even though I just used components that I bought from them, I have gotten great service. When I had an issue with my Xserve RAID, Apple could not help me (and I paid a lot for apple care), but FVSECO did.

I peicemealed mine from Promax. I haven't had any issues with the system except their DA Max. I find that ALL the info or questions that I've ever needed answered I've found on Creative... or Ken stone, or from reading the Apple Pro Training series.(working on being certified) As far as equipment goes the first box they sent me was not the proper one. I sent it back and they got the correct one too me right away. I would shop price and availibility.
