Where did your FCP system come from?

Your question is more than appropriate for this group! An edit system is a big purchase, and I encourage everyone to research all of your options intensely before you spend big money like this.

I usually buy where I get the best mix of price and service. I find that whenever I go out of my may to save a few bucks, I end up getting poor service or quality. So I try to stick somewhere in the middle.

I bought my first system from ProMAX, and assembled it all myself. I did not pay for support and never got any (and I tried, once), but I do know of people that have bought from them and have gotten really good support.

As for my second system, which was really just an upgrade, I bought the majority from FVSECO. Again I set it all up myself. And even though I just used components that I bought from them, I have gotten great service. When I had an issue with my Xserve RAID, Apple could not help me (and I paid a lot for apple care), but FVSECO did.
