In AE they wrould write an expression for this, with the wiggler, I think. For Combustion, I dunno. What some other guys did that I read about was to actually hand-shoot a black mark on a white wall from across the room with any old DV camera and then auto-track that footage, using the motion file generated off of that to drive a hand-held look for a virtual camera. A very organic approach.

I think you can use a "randomize" value with expressions as well.
Or, track a static object, so you have lots of keys, and use the "randomize" math function.

Highlight a keyable property track in the timeline, then look at the bottom for "Math Operations". Randomize is one of those choices. Note-- you need to have keyframes there to do any math ops on.

Look into the Expression Browser it has some random functions (NOTE: Random is only an option when a single track is selected). From there you can convert to key frames and and manipulate as need with the math operations, to smooth scale, clean up, etc.

A much better way is to simply use the tracker to stabilize any handheld footage. You can save the tracking data and simply apply it in reverse to any other footage. Instant handheld footage!
