Be honest with you: Combustion is a dead tool.

However try looking for jobs at houses that use a lot of Flame or Inferno. More often than not their roto/paint department is still using Combustion (because it's good at paint, and you can easily share splines with FFI).

Download the PLE of Nuke. It's free. That's probably one of the best programs to start learning.

Santhosh, I think a better suggestion might be to learn After Effects. Nuke appears to be a great high-end compositor, but there's plenty more work out there for AE. You can also "roll your own", so to speak, and create a production setup at home for minimal cost. The money you'd need to spend on a single license of Nuke would get you AE with a small render farm!

Granted you can "roll your own" with combustion if you already have a copy of it. As long as you can find clients that just need finished footage, you can freelance from home using combustion, setting up a small rendering farm, which is relatively inexpensive today.

[Phil Radelat] "The money you'd need to spend on a single license of Nuke would get you AE with a small render farm! "

Not to mention the fact that Adobe doesn't charge you a yearly "maintenance" fee for the privilege of using AE and downloading patches and upgrades...
