Combustion tracker not working (could .dpx be the cause)
by richard hirst on Mar 26, 2009 at 10:04:38 pm

Came across a pretty bad problem today. Sat down at a studio I have never been to and tried to track a gmask and the tracker did not work. It would set a key frame on the first frame and then do nothing.
The files were 2k .dpx. We loaded in a .tiff file of another shot and the tracker worked fine. I am using the same footage at home now on my PC and the tracker works fine. Could it be a .dpx issue only with a mac?

Studio
Combustion 4
Mac
2k .dpx

Home
Combustion 4
Windows Vista
2k .dpx

What version of Mac OS X are you using? Combustion is not supported on anything newer than OS X v10.4 (Tiger).

Its possible they are using a newer version than 10.4. I will know more tomorrow when I go in and work again. But to me it doesn't make sense that the tracker will only not work on select files. It works on .tiff files using their Mac computers. Any ideas of why that would be?
