Does Autodesk have any plans to eventually officially support Combustion 2008 on Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard)?
I find it astonishing that 10 months since Combustion 2008's release, there still hasn't been a patch that fixes the problem of Combustion (Mac) crashing on exit or upon completion of a render.

No version of Combustion is currently supported by Autodesk on Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard). That's what's going on.
As far as I'm aware, there has never been an official announcement from Autodesk that they intend to ever support Combustion on Leopard. Nor is it likely that Toxik, which has probably taken a significant amount of development resources away from Combustion, will ever be ported to Mac OS X.
Combustion 2008 was released in January 2008, and no patch has been released since then to add support for Leopard - it does not appear to be a priority for Autodesk, for whatever reason. It may be that the Mac user base isn't large enough for Autodesk to justify spending the development resources to certify Combustion on Leopard.
We'll likely never know until/unless a patch is released. Autodesk is notoriously tight-lipped about their development plans for Combustion. People like to complain about Apple's secrecy regarding new products, but Apple can't hold a candle to Autodesk where secrecy about the future of Combustion is concerned.
