Is anyone successfully using C4 on a 17" Macbook Pro?

I'd really like to know, as I can't launch my 4.0.4 on my MBPro (latest updates including fontfix for C4). I detailed the problem in an older post, but got no reply. Autodesk offers no help other than to try launching from a new admin-account (which I've tried to no avail).
Any insight or experiences most welcome!
Cheers,
Dan

C4.04 runs faster on my MacBook Pro than it does on my Dual 2.0 G5. Autodesk did a Great job getting C4 to universal so quickly but yes their customer support really SUCKs!! I sure hope it is better if you buy one of their big systems. I would try downloading the app again (maybe using IE,yuck) and reinstalling. But I assure you it does run and it runs fast (well faster anyway)

Well, I have really tried.
I have:
- reinstalled three times. Removing everything I could find.
- installed as admin and as root
- tried running the app as admin/root and from a new admin account
- disconnected external monitors (22" cinemad display), and tablets etc.
- repaired permissions, etc, etc.
I run 10.4.8 on a June Macbook Pro 17", and C4.0.4 (inc. font fix) just won't get past "paint initializing". Autodesk is of no help whatsoever.
Oh, and all other apps (C4D, Logic, AE, etc. etc.) run just fine. And I thought that Autodesk really had gotten their act together when they did a relatively swift Universal Binary release. Turns out it's the same buggy situation as usual. :-(

In that case I'd do the following:
* in ~/Library/Preferences, delete 2 files:
com.autodesk.combustion.plist + combustion preferences
* in ~/ remove the "Combustion User Data" folder
* uninstall any Haxies / APE if any
* if c* does not run at this point, do the above again
and then reinstall. While testing this, do not install 3rd
party plugins other than the RE:VisionFX plugins that get
installed automatically.
* Do not rename or relocate /Applications or the
combustion app folders

Been there, done that.
I've installed it under a new admin account, ran it under both admin and ordinary user accounts. Even installed it under a root account.
It does - not - work! I fully blame incompetent developers at this point. I run all kinds of expensive apps (all clean and licensed) on this machine, and I haven't installed any mod-packages whatsoever. Everything works fine - except C4.
I got the recommendation from Autodesk to update the video card drivers for the Macbook Pro. That's not reassuring as they should know that drivers are handled by Apple through Software update.
I'll see if they patch it and it starts to work, but I'm slowly losing interest to be honest.
