As i told before, i am new to Combustion 4. So another beginner question.

Please, correct me if i am wrong. I realized that you don't need to cut a piece of your footage to apply some effect, you just need to point with the time indicator bar the location you want to apply the effect and go on.

I also noticed that if you do that, the effect lasts for some time but not to the entire video. To adjust the effect duration, i saw in the effects settings an option called: LIFE.

Is that all correct? The way to adjust effect duration is by LIFE option?

only particles have "life" setting and this is not the same as duration of the effect on the footage.

in the timeline you can see in the in and out points of an effect. by default, its over all frames
