I'm in (Duh!) and when you settle on a date/time/location, Alan, Saeed and I will alert to 30-some members of LAcUG - Yes, that's a lowercase c :) So wherever the hang is to take place, make sure there's room for a good size mingle.

I'm there. I still haven't signed up for siggraph yet however.

I should probably look into signing up, or finding one of those 'get in free' emails.

I got my plane tickets and hotel reserved so now all I need now are the free passes to the exhibit and some SWAG from the show ;). Oh yeah and sign up for user group meetings and parties ;).

Use registration code "New222" to get a free pass, or better, for $25 extra get an Exhibits Plus pass that gets you into a lot more goodies. This code is courtesy of Newtek, Booth 1529.

The regular pass price this year is $75/85/95 depending on when you register, plus $25 more for Plus.

(BTW, I have nothing to do with Newtek other than being a customer.)

Esteban,

I would love to be involved. I will actually be in Fort Lauderdale which I understand is very close to Miami. I'll be heading out in a couple of weeks to edit a film for New Line and I should be heading back to Los Angeles the end of August or first week in Sept.

email me you phone number and I'll get in touch when I get to town.

We should be able to get a macrobrew or two upstairs, but I think there are better places nearby.

Wait a second B.J. - aren't you the guy who had us all meet at the brewery at the Monte Carlo in Vegas... only to not show up!? If you pick the place to meet a Siggraph, you have to be there :)

Lee,

Just don't tell him about the great time we had that night. I don't want him to feel bad about missing all the out of this world excitment we packed into one out of control crazy night!!! Rememeber What happens in Vegas.....

Yep. Snif. Yep.

I was so sick I couldn't even sit up for more than a few minutes at a time.

Had to arrange to peddle my prepaid hotel room two days before the show.

Spent several weeks in bed, and the only micro brew I got to enjoy was a small cup of tea... :O)

The most bizarre part is that my regular doctor, after a lot of unusually expensive blood tests, sent me to a tropical disease specialist MD (because I used to travel quite extensively).

After a short wait standing in his waiting room (would you read a magazine in the waiting room of a tropical disease specialist?), he gave me a thorough examination, went over my medical history very thoroughly, and checked all my medical tests from the last several years. His conclusion? No tropical disease, no rare virus that can be difficult to diagnose, but a crippling allergy.

I got some nasty chemicals for this (I think he called them "medicines"), and I was fine.

So I don't expect anything getting between me and my brew this time :O).

[Kenneth La Rue] "I guess we can forgive you."

Hmmmm, a stoolie just told me the following:
Just don't tell him about the great time we had that night. I don't want him to feel bad about missing all the out of this world excitment we packed into one out of control crazy night!!! Rememeber What happens in Vegas.....

It rather sounds like you had a good time... Out of this world excitement, eh? :O)

And here is a Quaffology 101 (really) technical article from Los Angeles Times about how to enjoy beer maximally:

http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la-fo-drinkbeer15jun15,1,4682030.story

It even talks about how to get the best, you know, foam-on-top of your beer.

(That didn't sound quite right either, what's a beer lover to do?)
