I haven't seen any mention of this in recent training post responses. It's been on my site for a few weeks and I thought evryone might want to add it to their resource list.
Autodesk combustion 4 Fundamentals Courseware is being published by Focal Press (hooray!) and has a list price of $49.95. The current publication date is July 19, 2005.

For whatever reason, there are 4 links in my previous post :( Link 2 and 4 work and have the same destination. What can say, I'm a master of technology.

It's our mechanism. All you need to do is post the link -- as long as you have the complete http://...., our mechanism will add the target=blank and create the hot link. So, all that extra work you did was lost. :-(

Lee,
So, is this the book that will go over all features in Combustion including the new stuff in version 4?
At some point, I'm planning to add Ken's Vol 2 DVD set to the 1st set I've gotten from TSP, but is the Courseware specific to on focus on the disciplines of using Combustion4, or what?

Keith,
At 520 pages courseware will cover quite a bit, and the footage and files are on a DVD, not a CD. It covers features selectively, only because you can't cover it all in any medium (like every operator), but it does hit on all core features, past and present. It is project based, so every lesson has a result.
As for the new stuff, yes, it's all there. Diamond Keyer, Capsules, Timewarp, G-buffer, Workflow: nav, TL filtering, etc. Paint: B-splines, point grouping, etc. There are also new lessons for morphing, particles, edit op and expressions, plus other c3 stuff since there was no c3 courseware.

Thanks Lee.
This is good. I come from a audio production background and got into the visual side last year with my first workstation (a MAC G5). Loaded with Final Cut Pro, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro and, of course, Combustion, I have had to learn a lot. It's been a challenge to make sure I do 'something' in Combustion every chance I get to stay on top of what I've already learned.
Materials like this and the other stuff that you guys have produced over the last year has really contributed to helping learn what I need to learn and to apply what I need to apply as I need it. Again, it's been a challenge, and, it's been great. Thanks to you guys.
Though I'm still waiting for C4 Mac version. It's cool cause I'm still learning C3 with the other apps I've mentioned.
BTW, I have a training request for your Runaway Training. Can you do a training Disc on Matte Painting?
