InDesign Link versioning across Mac & Windows using Evolphin Zoom's CS5 plugin

Almost all our designers & creative team is on Mac, but there are a few people who need Windows access. The problem I am running into is this:

Our designers will place links to images and other objects in their Indesign doc. The links point to a shared drive on a Windows server running Evolphin Zoom for versioning and managing the asset links. All that works fine. After placing the links when the document is opened in a Windows machine, the links do not work.

Talked with Evolphin Zoom support they said the do not control how Adobe InDesign inserts the path to the shared drive. In other words the path to the same shared drive on Mac & Windows could be different, so InDD links won't work across platforms. Is there a solution to creating cross platform links that will work on Win & Mac both ?
