Text Problem When Rotated
by Hilary Moore on Sep 24, 2009 at 5:36:45 pm

Hi!
This seems pretty simple, but I can't figure out how to fix it or why it's happening at all. Basically, what I'm trying to do is put a block of text on a background and then rotate everything, say, 4 degrees to the left. Once I have the rotation completed, I look at the text and the letters look wavy. They're not on a straight clean line anymore. My understanding is that rotating shouldn't change the way the picture or the text looks (other than the fact that it's rotated, obviously.) Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks!
Hilary

Most likely, it's just a manifestation of the limitations of your computer's display. The grid of pixels that make up your monitor image can't produce clean-edged lines in every case, and this is especially true when small degrees of rotation are involved. Your text should still print just fine.
