Just started shooting AVC 100 Intra 1920 X 1080 24p
Transcoding in FCP 7 to ProRes 422 HQ 1920X1080 24p
Should I use MXO Uncompressed 1080p 23.98 as my video playback setting?

Hi James
Set your View menu > Video Playback >> to Matrox MXO2 - 1080PsF 23.98 YUV 10-bit (1920 x 1080)
(and yes, that's the same Video Playback preset that will be automatically selected if/when your choose the Matrox MXO2 - Uncompressed 1080p 23.98 10-bit 48kHz Easy Setup)

Respectfully, not sure I'd agree with Shane on this. Much better to use the correct output that matches your sequence/source otherwise you are forcing FCP to handle a real time frame rate conversion, which is not something it does well. If your monitor doesn't directly support display of 23.98psf then set the Main Channel Video Output in the MXO2 System Preferences Pane to 1080i 59.94 form 23.98.
That said and done, I'm neither a 23.98 nor 59.94 kind of guy so I'm happy to be steered right if I'm off course here.

Disagree...that's fine. But I think he is talking about the original MXO...and so I don't know if it has a 23.98 output setting. Been a while since I used mine. But, the easiest way to see if it works is to try it. If it does, great! If not, try other settings. And FCP wouldn't be handling the pulldown, would it? Wouldn't the box? Or for the box to do it you have to set the setting in the System Pref Pane?
