 | MX02 Mini & color correction on Consumer LCD

I've seen this issue touched on lightly already but have not seen my issue specifically addressed, yet.
Matrox advertise that the MX02 Mini has the tools to adjust a consumer LCD so that it can be used for professional color correction which I therefore interpret according to their specs on their website that an editor can confidently color correct work using a setup of a MX02 Mini and consumer LCD. Matrox state this as a single feature that alone is reason to buy the Mini. I'm interested but want to be sure.
I have a 42" Sony Bravia, W-series, Full HD LCD which I'd like to use for both client preview and color correction finishing, rather than purchasing a very expensive HD professional monitor.
Most of my footage is either DV, HDV or XDCAM EX. Usually final output is to BetaSP, which I do via MiniDV tape and transfer at a third party facility.
On paper, it seems possible to purchase the MX02 Mini and calibrate the Sony LCD and then I can color correct without worries. Is anyone able to advise on whether this setup will achieve the intended objective? Thank you.
