MXO2: Out of Sync?
by Andrew Gersh on Jun 24, 2009 at 5:53:12 pm

Hi, all -

I'm using the MXO2 on a new 8-core with FCP 6.0.5. I'm seeing about a two-frame delay between picture through the HDMI output to a consumer 40-inch LCD and audio through the analog XLR outputs when playing source or timeline media. I've tried multiple projects with different formats and framerates.

I'm still using the 1.3 driver, as I'm in the middle of a few projects and would rather not upgrade unless I know 1.5 will help. Any ideas?

Many thanks,
- Andrew

Hello Andrew,

HDMI route usually introduces latency, so I would send the audio through HDMI to the TV, then connect the output audio from the TV to the speaker.

I personally use MOTU V4HD as the hub and connect MXO2's HDSDI or MXO's HDSDI to V4HD, then to the consumer HDTV, then use the V4HD's audio delay function to match the sync.
