Hi All, firstly, apologies if this has been covered in previous posts, as much as I searched I couldnt find a solution.
As i understand it you can use the MXO2 Mini to bypass the HDV compression in a camera, exporting 'true hd'. The only problem is, if I do this in the field and dont have the benfiit of a laptop to capture live, is there any way of exporting the signak out of the MXO2 to a portable hard drive?
Any ideas or musings would be greatly appreciated :D

MXO2 always need a computer to capture and playback video.
Also with a laptop computer, at this point without Firewire 3G or USB3 connection, laptop won't provide uncompressed video because of the bandwidth for the storage.

Yes I've been impressed with the pro-res. I was actually doing a bit of investigative work, I've been given the opportunity to shoot a short film for a local cinema screen, and wondered if avoiding the hdv compression would make any noticable difference from capturing at pro-res... in fact anything to bump up the image quality would be a boost.

Yup sounds like the pro res capture is the way to go... now I just have to steal someones Apple Laptop.. I thought I was being ever-so-clever getting a Mac Pro. Curses to it!
Ok... I cant stay mad at it long. It gives me Final Cut Pro and Colour (and on wasteful days Facebook)
