Joe BandyWave Export for CD

I was trying to export a wave file for a CD using my matrox Axio LE by going file export audio.
There were a couple of different codecs that I could use each of which I had never heard of before like ccitt u-law or ccitt a-law. What are these for? Uncompressed waveform worked but the file size is big of course but I could burn it to a cd. A couple of the other ones would only burn a mono file. I'm thinking that uncompressed waveform at 16bit 44.1 would work best for a wave file that could be burnt to a cd and played in a standard cd player. Can anyone confirm this?
I have not tried using any of the matrox media encoder settings and just unchecking the video box yet.

Thank you!

Hi Joe,

Uncompressed 16-bit stereo 44,100 wav audio is the standard for CD. Use any audio CD burning software and Import your wav for burning

The files are big, as CD is uncompressed audio, about 10x bigger than mp3

Thank you, that is what I assumed. Turns out the Citt U-law and A-law are mobile phone telecommunications audio standard encoding formats.

Thanks for the help.
