Corrupted Project!!!
by Joe Bandy on Oct 3, 2008 at 1:56:23 am

This makes my last issue look like a walk in the park.

Corrupted Project using Matrox Axio and Adobe Premiere Pro!!!!

This makes my last issue look like a walk in the park. I was working all day on this project and shut down my program Adobe Premiere CS3 to do some other work. When I came back to editing I opened Adobe and found that one of my 2 timelines was not in the timeline panel.
Most importantly my multi cam edit nested sequence with all my edits!!! I could see it when in my project panel but when I double click on it, it will not open in the timeline. Instead it goes straight to my program monitor where I can see all my edits and titles but it does me no good because I can’t work on it any further.
I went into my auto save folder and all projects throughout the day all have the same issue.

I talked to adobe support and all they could tell me to do is to open up old auto saved projects and hope that one worked!!!

I was eventually able to open both timelines in one of my projects by making a duplicate of it in the project panel and opening the dupes in the timeline by double clicking on them but when I closed and opened the project again they were GONE!!!

After going through this process again I finally have both timelines open in the timeline panel and am rendering my project so that I can export it to AVI so that I can save whatever I have.

I’m afraid to turn off my computer because I might lose the entire project.
I’m using Matrox Axio LE with Adobe Premiere Pro.

If the project is corrupted I believe there is a way to open this project in a new project by importing in the folder but I’m not sure. Even if I knew how I don't know if it would help.

This is an EMERGENCY!!!!
Can anyone offer any help?

Create a NEW project using same Matrox preset as before. Go to File > Import and choose the "project" file of corrupt project.

The project will appear as a folder in the Project bin. Open it, and all your clips and sequences will be there, just open a sequence to work on it.

Of course, your problems sound pretty severe so this may not work, but usually does the trick for many issues

Joe -

[Joe Bandy] "This makes my last issue look like a walk in the park."

It was, once we had all the details.

;>)

So, what else can you tell us about THIS issue? Specifically, computer system, drive where you're saving projects, media drives, etc. etc.

If you give us the whole scenario, a specific recommendation is more likely (instead of shooting in the dark).
