The Axio has a planned release in the next few months.

You'll be able to get one from an authorized reseller as a turnkey computer.

The Axio will NOT be available as a standalone card or package.

There's such a lack of buzz on these forums about Axio, or any info, articles, anything! about Axio by Matrox outside NAB. I'd love to hear more...

I tried... I couldn't afford a trip to NAB, so there's nothing to report there. Matrox won't be touring the Axio to the potential dealers before release, so we aren't getting a look at it either.

Matrox is keeping a tight lid on this.
They won't even give a firm release date. All I have is a month.

This was the message passed on at NAB, software/hardware release is scheduled tentatively as end of May, so if a dealer had a sale they could put together the turnkey, load the software, install the boards and deliver a system. The pretty looking, fully packaged product ready to go by June 15th or so. Pricing discussed at NAB was as follows:

HP Workstation $5000-6000 I worked with the HP 8200 (intel) & 9300 (AMD)
HD option $11,495
SD option $ 7,495

Add to this the monitors and storage, we used Roarke MaxArrays with 8 disc stripped set at the booth, I know there are other options but I don't know exact specs.

I hope to be starting up an AXIO forum here in the very near future . . .stay tuned for more details
