Loading from a DVD

When I "import from a DVD" I get a 10 minute part, then a 3 or 4 parts each around 4-5 minutes long coming in as "Titles"

1. Why does the DVD/WS do this? How can I avoid this and import the WHOLE DVD as one Title?
2. Can I change a "Title" to a "Chapter" and how?
