hi fellas,
i hope all's well with you all?
its pretty darn quiet around here!
ive just adopted the old intellistation from work which im going to pimp up and give to my uber green brother in law, and in the box was the 6.5 card. I dont imagine there are many people still wanting one, even as a spare, but i want to buy him more ram, so a £100 would come in handy... any takers?
i dont have the breakout box or cables, just the card.

Mark,
Long time! I join you overseas as I now live in Israel. As a matter of fact my Targa system appears to have been a casualty of the move. My Targa card passes all tests but I can't get any video or audio out of the breakout box (analogy BOB). Interestingly, *edit does see the REF IN correctly from the BOB and loads all jobs normally. Also, the external video monitor recognizes that a NTSC 480/60i signal is being sent to it but still will only show black.
So, it appears there is some type of problem either with the card or the BOB. Do you have these items still? I might need to be in contact with you if you still have them. I have my client coming to Israel on Sunday and will leave Chicago on Saturday. So my first option is to try and find one that can be overnighted today to Chicago for Friday delivery and then be brought on the plane, but otherwise, I might see what I could work out with you if you do have the card and BOB.

Hi there Erik, good to hear from you... and sorry your system is giving
problems.
I dont have much t3000 experience, so dont know what the signs are for a failing card, but it seems to me that if you can see video fine on the computer source and record viewers, its not the card, but probably the BOB.
If you decide you do want to try another card, I do have the
3000 card but would have to dig around for the bob, it may have been thrown away, so much shuffling around at the studio...
Im based in London, so let me know if you want me to wrap it up and send it somewhere...
till later
cheers, Mark.

Hey Mark,
How do you like living in London? So far living in Israel has two main problems: the food and the stores. Food is very Middle Eastern which tastes awful to me and the stores are much more Mom and Pop with not that much selection. Other than that though I like it here a lot.
Yeh, I think I am interested in both the Targa card and the analog BOB (if it can be found). I need a little insurance policy with my Edit 6.5 system so even if I don't need the card right now I will feel better just having one around. You can contact me offline if you like -- erikdavis AT bezeqint DOT net -- to work out the arrangements.
Does anyone on the COW know if the REV version of the Targa card matters? I seem to recall someone telling me that if I ever replaced my Targa card I would need to do so with same REV version. Is there a way to determine what REV I currently have without physically removing the card from the computer?
Also, do any former *editors have any idea what potentially incorrect setting within the software of Edit 6.5/Targa 3000 could possibly be causing black audio/video to come out of the breakout box? I changed the "video output" setting inside *edit from component to composite and back again with no luck.

Hi there Erik, and hello others!
yep, im in the UK, now living 30 miles south of london called east grinstead.
i dont know the tech answers to your questions, but I do know the card was bought about 2 months before edit was EOL'ed, and it says 3100 on it... and the revision just has an army green rectangle after the word revision with nothing written on it.
I will only be back in london in about two weeks since the studio is being gutted and renovated and will be kitted out with two fcp systems. I have little hope the bob is still there though, we were very aggressive throwing things out. The only reason I have the T3k is because i salvaged the mpro intellistation from certain landfill and rebuilt it for my brother in law, after removing the targa card... but i will have a look anyway.
