We shot a commercial using the RED. We have a ProRes 422 HQ version of it, that's close to 800 mb to send to TV stations for broadcast. Does anybody have a better solution for compression that will reduce the size without affecting the quality?...anybody that can share the experience of sending HD material electronically for broadcast.
many thanks in advance

Use YouSendIt.com. You upload once and stations can download at will. File transfers up to 2GB are free. Also check out if stations have Aspera. We send many files to HBO this way. All you need is the Aspera client which is free. Of course, you need a fast internet connection if you don't want to wait hours. Cable companies offer very fast pipes today. Cablevision in our area offers Optimum Online Ultra which is blazingly fast: 101Mbps down and 15Mbps up. At these speeds your upload would be around 7 minutes (if my math is correct) and downloads well under a minute.
