 | HD Projection question

Shooting a 20 min environmental doc on the HDX-900, DVCProHD 720p workflow editing in Final Cut. First screenings will be at an event over several days on a Christie HD12k projector with SDI, DVI & (5) BNC inputs.
The only playback facilities at the venue is Blu-Ray which is far too risky for my taste, other gear would have to be hired in. Obviously I could master to HDCAM and hire a player for the event, but what would the pros and cons of playing it as a file directly from my MacBook Pro?
This is a new workflow for me, so please bear with me! Thanks for any feedback.
