Conforming Hi-Rez stills from offline to online
by Rick Pratt on Oct 14, 2008 at 8:52:56 pm

I am currently doing an online of a variety of programs for my client from an SD timeline up to HD. One of the issues is that they used Hi- rez stills in their offline, and when I go to the HD timeline, it's reconnecting to those same stills, but the scaling and motion settings all have to be basically redone. My question is, is there a set ratio that I can tell my clients to scale their stills down to and create essentially SD versions for their offline and then reconnect to the original Hi-rez stills for the online and not have to go in and resize and reset motions?

I would think that would depend on the software you are using for post, and whether it deals with sizes internally as percentages or pixels. I suspect the motions would need to be re-done in any case, as you are working on a differently sized "stage".

Hopefully someone can contradict me...
