Ref Issues??

So, this is an update to an earlier thread which didn't get any replies but I have narrowed the problem down.

I have a Sony SRW 5800 being fed tri-level sync from an Evertz 5600msc generator but the SR deck is not receiving it when set to 23.98. It works fine in 50i or 59.94 though.

The multiple outs on the Evertz are feeding other HDCAM decks with no problems in all frame rates.

I have tried setting the SR decks ext reference at 59.94 and it syncs correctly and then i switch over to 23.98 which takes the exact same ref and it shows a no Reference input warning.

Any clues????

Hey Jahil.

It sounds like you are feeding the deck a sd sync rather than tri-level?

Are you using the right reference in/out puts on the Evertz and SRW?
And have you got any reference going into the Evertz? i.e. a station sync etc.

Turns out i was sending an HD sync but my sync outputs weren't patched correctly from the evertz.
