Panasonic TH-50PF10UK issues?
by moody glasgow on Aug 25, 2008 at 7:04:12 pm

Has anyone who uses this monitor noticed that white titles over a moving background causes the edges of the titles to breakup? I took the same title and put it over black, and it looks perfect. We have the HD-SDI option card installed, so I was expecting a bit better image quality.
I've tested this with different clips, clips with the titles already on them, swapped out cables, even tried the output from one of our FCP systems, and I am positive it is something with the monitor.
Any thoughts?

thanks

On the FCP system we are using a Kona 3, with the BOB. I've also tried doing an upconvert in the Kona 3 to 1080, and I still see the same issue.

have you tried it over component?

I have a 50" 9uk being fed via component on
a black magic multibridge extreme and have no quality problems.

After further testing, it appears to be an upscaling issue. I finally got some native 1080p footage in one of our FCP system, and I no longer could see the issue I mention previously.
