Has anyone used the AJA HD-SDI to HDMI converter for hd monitoring? I would like to use this setup for a large client HD monitor mounted on the wall. I have the lhe kona card with SDI out but I am trying to avoid the huge cost of a large production monitor with SDI inputs. Is there another solution?

The Hi5 works just dandy, but to spend ZERO money, simply take the analog component HD signal off the back of your Blackmagic or AJA or AVID product (or some HD VTR's have analog component HD), and stick this into the analog component inputs of your big wall monitor, and this will display in full HD resolution - and you don't have to buy an HDMI converter !

Thanks, I have the analog out going to my RGB only monitor that's why I need to use the SDI for the other monitor. I am going to try the AJA converter.

I use the HDMI output of my blackmagic multibridge. It goes directly into the HDMI input of a $400 22" Samsung computer monitor. Looks fantastic for the price. And the HDMI output is active all the time, including during capture. Couldn't believe how easy it was.

i've used the BlackMagic Intensity for HDMI for client monitoring, it worked great for 2 months, and then stopped working consistently. the reseller, keycode media, has had it for 2 MONTHS, and i still don't know when i'll get it or a new one back!
terrible customer service!!!
