Any thought on the SI-2K

Hey guys any opinions on the New SI-2K HD Camera. Was it displayed at NAB? If you have worked with the camera at all please let me know the outcome. Im intrested in purchasing one.

Hi Bobby,

Yes, the camera was displayed at NAB. You can visit our website at www.si-2K.com for more information. We have a Virtual NAB page with pictures, etc.

Also I've uploaded some CineForm RAW format files to our gallery, so you can play with RAW files recorded directly with the camera.

I'm not as close to the manufacturer as Jason...but I've used the camera a bit and I've been impressed with it. I had the chance to take part in a shoot we did with the SI camera right beside an F900, and the dynamic range of the camera was very impressive.

Exposure latitude on the SI exceeded the F900, and the RAW footage from the camera at 10 bit log is pretty luxurious to color correct.

The full body showed at NAB and looked very good.

...I'd have to say that it has my vote.

Yes...lots of discussion in all quarters about the whole concept of motion RAW...

Jason R. is actually several degrees of magnitude smarter on this stuff than I am...I just try to keep up.
