Which Codec can I use to capture HD 24fps in offline quality?

I'm working in a film project at 24 fps HD 4:2:2 8 bits, using FCP 4.5HD + G5 dual 2,5 + Blackmagic HD 4:2:2 + Xsan
The project is filmed originaly in SONY HD 4:2:2 8 bits 1080i 24 fps progressive.
I want to capture in a compressed mode, that allows me to import all the material into FCP. I have some problems using the DVCProHD codec. I put it on 24 fps; after capturing, the 24 fps timecode runs well, but if you look the info of quicktime video file there are only 16 fps (repeat 8 frames to match the timecode). This file in FCP the info column of the frame rate is 24. So I have a strobotized capture. I try then with motion JPEG A at 100% quality 720x576 (PAL) size and 24 fps. The result is better than the DVCProHD codec. But not all the files have exactly 24 frames. Someones have 19, 20, 22 .... You sincronize the audio from the dat and it match perfectly, but the video has some freezes and runs not smooth. I consider that the timebase and the setting of the sequence are ok. Probably the problem cames from compressing the HD input 1920 x 1080 100MBytes/sec. to a 720x576 4Mbytes/sec. in real time.

4Gigas RAM, and fiber channel dual 2GBS WITH XSAN & Xraid 5TB. Tomorrow I receive a SONY HD VTR to make tests. The original tape was recorded at 24 fps with timecode at 24 fps (not at 25 fps PAL)

If you are getting the JH-3 as your HD VTR then it may have a firewire card in which you can get a downconverted signal out of. I offline my HD stuff sometimes in DV from this firewire out and edit on a 29.97 timeline. You then need to run the project file back through cinema tools to get it back to 24 for the online.

Thank's.
I have resolve the problem.
Now I'm editing in 24 fps 1080p with a motion JPEGA compression 4MB/sec, with no problem.
The problem was the G5. I reinstall the soft from zero and it runs ok.
