Ben,
It appears to be basic SD-DVD style menu/authoring with H.264 HD video on existing DVD media and is HD-DVD compatible with the DVD Forum HD-DVD logo displayed on the Apple website.
On the Apple stand they had a Toshiba HD-DVD player playing an Apple authored disc.
I guess we will now more when it ships.
Looks good for HD Digital Rushes and HD client approval discs.

Its a disc that conforms to the HD-DVD spec 0.9. The delivery medium is a standard DVD until HD_DVD burners are practical. As Jonathan says its a workflow thing for Pixar, feature film rushes etc.

That makes sense to me.
Speaking of which, does anyone know of any good public resources for the HD-DVD or Blu-ray spec, or a description of it? I've got people asking for overviews and I'm not sure where to send them.
