Any Tutorials for HFX in AL
by Butch Golden (Butch101) on Oct 3, 2008 at 7:05:20 pm

I know about Powerhouse and that'll come soon but am not seeing much info on the simple uses of HFX. Since HFX 6 for AL is stand-alone, there does't seem to be any easy way to pick a xistion and bring it to an existing timeline. Searches here and at the (P) forum brought me ONE explanation and I tried that to no avail.

It'd be nice to be able to use this functionality.

Thanks

Thanks Gerry

Looked them over and although valuable and timely, I still have not found the specific answer I need. It's seems eveyone assumes that knowing how to get a transition from the album in the HFX interface to one's current timeline (as a real transition) is implied when in fact it is not easily recognized.

If one drags the filter to a clip, the filter is applied across the entire clip and since keyframing is not available in the HFX interface AFAICT so far, one cannot key the transition to any specific area of the clip - which of course makes the entire clip itself the transition. That is not the well known transition between clips understood by the multitude of Studio owners. (From whence I came)

What is needed (in my case) is the procedure / process for saving any hfx transition so it shows up as a usable item in th FX rack. This would definately make my day.

I bet Stephen Noe-knows! If Noe doesn't know then who would?

Butch,

HFX is a plugin, and you should find it in the realtime FX & transitions racks.

Simple, click, drag, double click & edit. I've been editing a kids show, and use then all the time.

G'day Paul

I apologize in that I missed your response. I did finally see it just now and out of curiosity, double clickied on the existing default HFX xisiton in the FX lib, then did the same on a different transistion, took a long shot guess and 'Saved As'>some name in some dir. I then closed the HFX interface, went back to Liquid, rendered my yellow slice and had my new transition.

I've had crow pie before and it's not too bad. If this is to be the standard way of adding a HFX transition then so be it but it sure seems a bit convoluted to me.
