I am operating Avid Liquid Version 7.2 and everytime I add an effect; (dissolve or 2D editor effect) it turns green and is distorted when I attempt to convert it to PAL. Its just the effect that this happens with. The rest of the timeline is fine. Does anyone know why and what I can do?

Two problems with that machine. First, that video system uses some memory shared with the main memory of the system. Liquid generally does not work well with those kinds of video systems. Second, and probably the biggest problem, that is an nVidia DX10 video system and Liquid currently does not work with those. A patch should be released very soon to fix that. If you can, I would wait for the patch and see if that resolves the problem. The patch is currently in beta and should be out very soon.
If you can't wait, then you need to go to a different NLE that does not rely on the video hardware as much as Liquid does. Vegas is probably a good choice for that. It makes almost no demands on the video system. You can download and try a fully functional copy from the Sony website. I personally don't like it as an editing environment but it is a better choice for laptop computers in most cases.
