Relinking media in Avid Liquid
by Brent Rubin on Jun 27, 2008 at 5:23:25 am

I have a huge project that has become a mess. When I open up my project all of my footage is offline. I go to verify imported media and it doesn't find it. I know where all my footage is, is there any way in liquid I can tell it to look at the directory it's in? I'm not sure why it's not finding them.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Brent

Go to the control panel, site tab, media management and set the path where your clips are.

Just go to the main folder, not the reels folder.

When I do a project, I always set the MM to a specific folder for each project, that way it's extremely easy to keep track of everything,

Take a look at the RELINK video.

Best,

Paul

Thanks for the info... unfortunatly it's still not working.

I guess if you don't mind I'll describe in more detail what occured. When I created the file I place the project on a drive. Then I imported M2T files. So I have all the original M2T files all in BIN folders. When I imported the files they created the REEL folder. Now because it's a large project I had it spread out on 2 drives. Everything was working great until I had to copy everything to one drive and it's become a huge mess.
So right I put everything back the way I thought it was but I can't remember. I go to Verify Imported Media and it asks me where the M2T file is, I find it and click on it, but it doesn't relink the footage. I'm thinking it may be because the REEL folder has been moved around and I can't remember where it originally was. Am I correct in thinking that. I'm assuming that's why the M2T's aren't coming up because it can't find the Reel file.
I tried doing what you told me, but nothing seems to happen. Ugh any ideas how i can fix my mess?

Thanks so much

Brent

It worked! For some reason I did exactly what you said again and the entire timeline came up. Thanks, phew, so relieved.
