How to roll six video clips in one container

I have six video clips that I would like to roll from the left to right. Currently I have 3 per container and added the roll/crawl filter to make move. The problem I am having is matching the space and speed beteen the two containers so that it flows in one motion.
Is there an way to place all six clips in one container and add the filter?
Do I need to size them all down to fit on the screen at one time, then use the 2d/3d filter camera to zoom in close and then scroll as needed. It seems there is a easier way but can't figure it out, any suggestions?
