Are you fusing to AVI ??? Can you play the fuse correctly in windows media player with sound ???? I usually make sure that the sound is imbedded in my fuses. There is a setting that allows you to make fuses with seperate audio streams...

hi yes its a AVI fuse, and it works fine outside the liquid programme it plays with sound, it just won't import in the liquid programme , no AVI clips import in the liquid programme, they come up as a 'x'.

I was having the same problem last week with our Liquid Blue (5.62, I believe). I fused video to an AVI for storage, and then imported it back into a project. The video came through but there was no audio on the imported clip (A1 and A2 were greyed out when you looked at the clip in the viewer). I may have powered the whole machine down to let it rest and then tried again. I think I got around the whole thing by fusing to a clip as well as importing it into the project in the same process. If anyone knows what to watch for, it would be most helpful information. It was the first time I had run into this type of problem... the lesson learned was to ALWAYS check your fused clips for audio and video before you trash the originals.

Fusing essentially makes a copy of what is on the timeline which is why it is generally quick making a timeline fuse. Assuming you are using the DV-AVI codec for your render/fuse codec in the timeline properties, then the only things that will not be a 1:1 copy of the original dv material are effects such as dissolves, color correction, etc. All grey slices are just copied. Essentially, using fuse is an almost lossless process.

I would try changing your user profile...Create a new one and see if the fuse will import using this new profile. Also, try bringing the fuse into a new project and see if this works.
Profiles can get corrupted, and so can projects.
Installs can also get corrupted. On my system running AL7.1 (now running 7.2) I couldn't export QT or AVI....I went into the Add/remove programs in the OS control panel and did a repair on AL7....worked like a charm...also didn't have to do a reinstall.
